Disney Plus Day, a global celebration of the company’s streaming service, is nearly here. The day-long event will take place on Friday, 12 November, and it promises to provide a number of exclusive announcements, new trailers, appearances from stars and creators and more.
Big day for the MCU
The Marvel Cinematic Universe dominated the big screen during the Infinity Saga and now it seems set to do the same on the small screen as the franchise expands on Disney+.
The MCU’s expansion on streaming allows the franchise to push side characters to the forefront while also introducing new heroes and villains along the way.
WandaVision spearheaded Phase 4 by showcasing Wanda Maximoff’s transition into the Scarlet Witch, with the show also featuring the debut of Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness, SWORD, and Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier gave us the story of Sam Wilson’s heroic transformation into the next Captain America while teasing the threatening presence of Sharon Carter as the Power Broker. Loki changed the MCU like never before by opening up the concept of the Multiverse, and What If…? made history as Marvel Studios’ first animated series.
Now, it seems that new MCU projects could soon be announced as part of a major Disney+ event.
Ahead of Disney+ Day, an official fact sheet of Marvel Studios’ special showcase confirmed that an “exciting look” at upcoming MCU shows and “new project announcements” will be revealed.
