Hold tight Scandal addicts we may have a substitute show to get us through the summer. If you’re looking for a professional fixer then Ray Donovan is your guy. Ray Donovan premiers 30 June on Showtime and stars Liev Schreiber (Victor Creed/Sabretooth in X-Men Origins: Wolverine) in his first regular TV role. Paula Malcomson (Amanda Graystone in Caprica), Jon Voight, James Woods, and Rosanna Arquette also star.
Ray fixes things for the rich and famous in LA. Apparently he can make anyone’s problems disappear except his own. Ray’s father is released from prison five years earlier than expected and things are tense between father and son. Unlike Scandal, this show has some ‘grown up’ language (swear words people) and Ray looks to be a mixture of Olivia Pope and Huck rolled into one. Count me in for at least the first episode and we’ll see how it goes after that. UK fans will have to wait until July to watch the series on Sky Atlantic.
Or you could spend the summer with painful Scandal withdrawal.
