Bones – The Pain in the Heart

29 May, 2008 by PashaO

The Gormogon serial killer is back again, and the silver skeleton from the basement vault has gone missing. All the Jeffersonian employees become suspects, with the scary possibility that one of their own is working with Gormogon.

The season finale felt rushed just as the episode before felt weird this episode was out there. To believe that Zack used logic to become a murderer is unbelievable.  The creators wanted to shake things up well, they’ve succeeded in pissing me off. How am I supposed to watch reruns knowing that Zack is a heartbeat away from being a head case? Creepy.

Bones creator Hart Hanson told TVGuide.com “Initially the plan — and things go through so many iterations — was that we would find that Zack was either the apprentice to the Gormogon, or that he was approached by the Gormogon, rebuffed the offer, and then was killed. Any number of scenarios were explored.”

I personally would have preferred if Zack was killed. That way, I can mourn, move on and watch my reruns in peace.  I also think the Gormogon story could have gone into the new season. As funny as I think Sweets is I always had him pegged as Gormogon or his apprentice. I guess I’ll have the Brennan, Booth, Sweets dynamic to look forward to in season four.

In the meantime, I’ll have to spend the next few months forgetting Zack ever existed.
