Season three: episode 13: Ghostfacers
Whilst investigating the haunted Morton Mansion, Sam and Dean run into a couple of familiar faces and become inadvertent participants in a new reality show named Ghostfacers. As events turn deadly and the team are trapped in the house, the investigation becomes a battle to survive until morning.
This episode was lame. Did it come about because of the writer’s strike and the fact that reality TV was the main fare for us poor souls waiting for the strike to be over? Whatever! I hated it. The jerky cameras, the plotline, all cack!
Where is the show going? It started off with a plan or at least I thought so. Season one was all about finding Sam and Dean’s Dad and the demon that killed their mom, season two was about Sam’s “specialness” and the yellow eyed demon’s interest in him. Interesting plot, would Sam turn evil? Then it fizzled out. The season two finale was anti-climatic.
Dean sold his soul to bring Sam back to life and now it’s very much a demon of the week with no real wider reaching arc. Oh unless you include the fact that Dean has a year to live. Boring!
Season three finale can go one of two ways: The hunters find a get out clause and break the deal; Dean dies and the series ends, or continues to a fourth season where they find a get out clause and bring Dean back to life.
I just hope they come up with some better storylines soon because right now I feel like I keep watching just to see Sam and Dean’s dimples.
