HBO has released the first teaser for the highly anticipated Game of Thrones spin-off House of the Dragon.
Unless my ears deceive, me, it’s Doctor Who’s, Matt Smith doing the voiceover for the trailer: “Gods, kings, fire and blood. Dreams didn’t make us kings. Dragons did”.
We know from the official photo release that Matt Smith plays dragon rider Daemon Targaryen, younger brother to King Viserys and heir to the throne. We see him in the teaser along with Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, the daughter of Otto Hightower – the hand of the king and several members of the supporting cast. The title card between scenes reads “200 years before the fall of the throne a dynasty reigned”.
Watch it below.
House Of the Dragon is based on George RR Martin’s Fire & Blood and is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones. The 10-episode series chronicles the beginning of the end of House Targaryen and the events leading up to the Targaryen civil war, known as the Dance of the Dragons.
We finally have confirmation that House of the Dragon will premier in 2022 but when in 2022 is not yet know.

I’m really looking forward to this. And I don’t care what anyone says about Game of Thrones. It had us riveted to our TVs every week and I bet this will too.
