Could you be the next UK podcasting sensation?

In recent years, podcasting has taken the world by storm, offering a mesmerising blend of entertainment, education, and riveting stories that have enthralled millions. The pandemic further fueled this growth, revolutionising the way we consume content and making podcasts an indispensable part of our daily routines.

In 2022 alone, a stunning 10.1 million people in the UK tuned in to podcasts every week, racking up a massive 59.1 million hours of listening time – that’s almost 7 hours per adult per week! And with 72% of these listeners taking action after hearing a brand message within a podcast, it’s evident that there’s an audience for everyone in this thriving medium, closely following TV, streaming, and social media.

This raises an intriguing question: who will emerge as the next podcasting sensation or create the hit series that will grab listeners’ attention?

To find out, UK-based podcast agency Earworm is launching an exhilarating challenge to discover the next wave of audio trailblazers! They’re on a quest to unearth fresh and inventive voices with outstanding podcast ideas and are offering a chance to bag a phenomenal prize package worth £5,000. This includes the golden opportunity to develop a fully-branded podcast series and share it with the world.

Earworm’s Chief of Sounds, Ben Farley, elaborates, “We’re an audacious, playful, and rule-breaking squad that dares to stand out from the crowd. Our passion for audio adventures fuels our mission to produce content so addictive it lingers in listeners’ minds like an irresistible tune. This challenge is an amazing chance for budding podcasters across the UK to join our thrilling ride.”

The creative mavericks at Earworm are itching to find that one-of-a-kind podcast concept capable of conquering the charts. From ideation to production and beyond, seize this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to launch a new podcasting career or elevate an existing series to new heights.

Earworm welcomes entries from all podcast genres and is particularly interested in amplifying stories from underrepresented communities throughout the UK. Besides the grand prize, three runner-up awards will be given, each comprising a podcast consultancy session with an industry expert to refine and polish their ideas further.

Additionally, three more fortunate participants will receive runner-up prizes of podcast consultancy services valued at £499 per person. With such an enticing prospect at hand, it’s only a matter of time until the UK’s next podcasting prodigy takes centre stage and bewitches audiences across the globe.
