In the penultimate episode, the 4400 are trying to solve a possible murder while the 44orum step up their attacks on the returnees. Meanwhile, Mildred attempts to save her sister.
When the 4440 learn that the Rev has been stabbed and his body is missing, Mildred becomes their prime suspect. Remembering what he saw in his vision, Hayden believes Mildred is more than capable of murder. He assumes Mildred came back to the hotel to kill the Rev for taking her power.
With her powers now returned, Shanice was able to look into Logan’s memory and see that Isaiah was taken by the green light. She and Andre decide to keep this information from the group as the prospect of being taken again will set everyone in a panic.
Luckily, Keisha who has a clearer head and experience of these things, quickly realises that Manny is a more likely suspect. With the help of Jharrel, they set a trap for Manny.
Free Millicent
Claudette confronts Ken and his band of anti-4400 guards when she catches them spraying graffiti on the walls outside the bar where she works. They smash the windows and leave her a package. It contains a bracelet that Mildred identifies as belonging to her sister.
Mildred believed her sister was still at Ipsi Med now it seems the 44orum have her. Hellbent on freeing her sister she enlists the help of LaDonna instead of waiting for Claudette to round up some well-trained 4400 members.
The bracelet was a trap and we learn that Millicent is not a hostage, she is in fact a deluded member of the 44orum and she wants to free her sister from the 4400.
Exploring the past: Mildred’s story
We get a flashback to the commune where the sisters lived together. Their leader was Caleb played by Patrick John Flueger who played Shawn Farrell in the original 4400 series.
The commune was obviously a cult where Caleb taught his disciples to focus on achieving zen and centring their actions on the “we not me”. When Millicent wanted to leave, Mildred grassed her up to Caleb. We see that Caleb’s actions of checking a person’s pulse in their neck is the reason why Mildred blew up at Andre when he tried to take her pulse.
Mildred’s flashbacks were short and less detailed compared to other returnees but it managed to show the sisters were on opposite sides from the beginning. Millicent was taken two years after Mildred and when the 4400 all returned, she was taken by the government and Green managed to convince her that the 4400 were bad.
Millicent is unable to coerce Mildred to her way of thinking and after Claudette and her team rescue Mildred and LaDonna we see Hayden’s vision come true when Mildred leads Claudette’s’ team into the tunnel of the Bois Blanc hotel.
Renew 4400
This episode had a lot of subplots to balance and being the penultimate episode there was a lot of table setting to do for the season finale.

We have a new thread with the mysterious benefactor who has taken Andre off to god knows where. Hopefully, we will learn more in the next episode.
We also have the disappearance of the Rev. Will he be back in the next episode? Will we learn more about the green light and more importantly will we learn what happened in 2062 which gives Manny the right to kill people for the greater good?
The CW has yet to confirm whether the 4400 will be renewed for a second season. If some of these big questions aren’t answered in the season finale, it’s very possible that we could be left with many unresolved threads.
I really hope The CW renews the series and makes the announcement soon. I’m very invested in the stories that could unfold. It would be criminal to reboot the series and leave us in a worst situation than the original series did.
