Blogs are important as they provide valuable information to readers who are looking for ways to solve their issues in life or answer niggling questions. And when it comes to blogging, there is a lot of information to choose from. And for marketers, writing blogs and articles plays a significant role in your marketing strategy.

But what other marketers don’t know is that there is a style of content that can actually send more traffic to your website compared to other available styles. This style is called “evergreen content.”

What is evergreen content?

Evergreen content is well written, well researched useful information that remains relevant and doesn’t go out of date. This type of content is not based on current trends or the latest news. But it is talking about a certain issue or providing solutions to problems that people face every day, thus remaining relevant for a long time. It is a type of post that people will bookmark and get into it from time to time due to its value.

Evergreen content creation requires considerable time and effort, but expending the extra resources is worth it if you want to rank higher in search engines, drive traffic for years, and help your audience find exactly what they need.

Evergreen content can be a great part of your marketing campaign because it is timeless and remains valuable to your readers. You may have to update your post occasionally as new information about it your given subject becomes available but your content will still stand the test of time.

Why is evergreen content important?

Your evergreen article can become a cornerstone article for your website – a solidly written piece that you refer to and link to in other articles. Cornerstone articles are normally long-form articles with upwards of 2,000 to 5,000 words. As you build internal links around this piece of content, search engines like Google, pay attention. If other websites are linking to your informative article, even better.

As part of your marketing, using evergreen content allows you to acquire a higher search engine result due to the fact that it is high in quality and has a high word count. Make sure to add some keywords related to your niche.

Since the content gains a higher rank, the article can be responsible for getting a lot of website traffic. And if the page ranks higher compared to the other posts, it tends to maintain that position every time a user does a search for your keywords.

Evergreen content also helps generate leads as it ranks high in the result and receiving high traffic amount. Make sure that you properly optimise your posts so you can collect the leads. The post can effectively bring you a good number of leads even for a long time even without making any traditional work beyond its initial promotion and publishing.

As mentioned above evergreen content is timeless. Regardless of the industry, you are in as long as you are providing answers to everyday problems people will read it.
