Sanctuary comes to Sci Fi Channel

9 February, 2008 by PashaO
Sanctuary for all

The successful and innovative web series Sanctuary has been picked up by the Sci-Fi Channel. Sci-Fi has ordered a full 13-episode season of the new scripted drama series, which originated online as the first high-definition sci-fi Web series.

Sanctuary hails from the Stargate SG-1 trio of star Amanda Tapping, writer-producer Damian Kindler and producer-director Martin Wood, who are executive producing the series with Sam Egan.

Amanda Tapping will continue to play the role of Dr Helen Magnus, “who tracks down and protects strange creatures that walk the Earth.”

This is good news for Sanctuary fans but bad news for Stargate Atlantis fans that had enjoyed Amanda’s role as Samantha Carter in the series. The actress will no longer be a regular on the show due to limited availability.
