Final 13 episodes of Haven season 5 pushed back to October 2015

UPDATE: Haven will now premier on 8 October in the US and on 14 October in the UK.

I’ve been scouring the web for the airdate for the remaining episodes of Haven season 5 for months and now that I’ve found it, I’m beyond annoyed. On SyFy’s website, it states that Haven will return this fall. For a translation, I went over to IMDB.

It seems the final part of the season will air in October. Yes, that’s right, the same as if it were a new season. Did I hear a collective WTF? Why bother to give it a 26-episode season if they were just going to treat the final 13 episodes like a whole new season. Might as well call it season 6 and have done with it!

Haven’s 26 episode season was split into two 13 episode parts and it’s been 7 months since season 5, episode 13 aired. I was beginning to have doubts as to whether the show would return. Seven months between a split season is a hell of a long time to wait but 9 months is a frikking joke.

Normally I try to downplay my Britishness but I have to ask: ‘Is SyFy having a bubble? Are they taking the piss? What gives?’

I should be grateful that the show is returning as I have been talking myself down from starting a petition just to get SyFy to announce a frikking airdate.

The reality is I felt helpless imagining the worst. Expecting to see an announcement that the show has been cancelled. I imagined the powers that be were hoping that fans would forget about the series so that they could tuck it away without making any sort of announcement. So yay! That didn’t happen.

The ratings haven’t been great for a while so this could be a reason that SyFy delayed airing the final part of the season until October. Let’s hope that the addition of William Shatner will see an increase in the ratings.

So there you go. A bit of good news/bad news for us Haven fans.

Well its about time. I have been looking for Haven all year long. It is one show that I enjoy very much. I look forward to watching it every week. Maybe SyFy don’t want it, maybe another network should pick it up and revamp it. I Love my Haven and all the people in it.
