San Diego Comic-Con is one of the biggest events of the year for fans of pop culture. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the event was cancelled. Fans won’t be missing out though, thanks to Comic-Con@Home.
San Diego Comic Convention (SDCC), the organisers behind the annual in-person event have put together an online version. Comic-Con@Home is a virtual event that will combine aspects of the convention experience with the comforts of home. Comic book enthusiasts can log in from around the world free of charge to watch panel discussions, Q&As and sneak peeks at upcoming seasons.
The likes of Disney and Hulu are among the companies to announce panels so far, with more A-listers expected to be announced.
One of the big scheduling coups is a reported panel for Marvel’s 616, an upcoming docuseries revealing the behind-the-scenes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Amazon Prime Video announced four Comic-Con@Home panels for returning, fan-favourite and exciting, new series The Boys, Upload, Truth Seekers and Utopia. The panels feature more than 30 Amazon Original series cast, creators and crew.
Things are set to kick off on San Diego Comic Con’s official YouTube channel and on the Amazon Virtual-Con portal starting at 12pm PST on July 23.
