Twitter launches Vine video

24 January, 2013 by PashaO
Twitter launches vine

Twitter has just officially unveiled Vine, a new way of sharing video through tweets directly.

The announcement comes less than a day after Twitter CEO Dick Costolo teased the new service on his Twitter feed.

Vine is a standalone app which is now available for iPhone and iPod touch users on the iTunes App Store; Twitter says it will introduce the device to more platforms soon.

The app allows you to shoot and embed a quick six-second video in your tweets just as you can with photos; the videos loop infinitely, making it almost more of a simple GIF-creation tool than a true video capture app.

\”Like Tweets, the brevity of videos on Vine inspires creativity,\” wrote Michael Sippey, Twitter\’s vice president of product.

Twitter bought out developer Vine Labs, a start-up based in New York, in October last year before the company was able to launch a product.
