One of the most recognisable living rooms in the world has now been tastefully recreated to show what it might actually look like in real life.
In an experimental project, UK-based design studio Bobbi Beck has reimagined the Simpsons living room in the real world and has given it a fresh, contemporary update.
Creative Director James Mellan-Matulewicz explained their approach to the redesign saying: “When we decided to bring to life the living room of 742 Evergreen Terrace, we knew that we had to pay respect to such an iconic room. However, this was tricky when it came to managing the bright colours in the home.
In reality, pink walls, green carpets, purple cabinets and a brown sofa don’t look very nice together, so it was a real challenge keeping the living room tasteful while still recognisably the Simpsons’.”
The Simpsons have been on our TVs for decades. Even if many people have never watched an episode, they are aware of the animated sitcom which debuted in 1989. It is the longest-running American sitcom in history and has produced 728 episodes to date.
