Embarking on a magical medieval adventure: My journey into writing a fantasy novel

20 May, 2017 by PashaO
Portrait of a beautiful girl queen of diamonds fantasy dark goddess

As an aspiring author, I’ve always been captivated by the enchanting worlds of epic fantasy. So, when I decided to write my own tale set amidst the spellbinding medieval lands of knights, castles, dragons, and magic, I knew it would be an exciting and challenging journey.

In my story, I chose to weave together some of the classic tropes from this beloved genre. I’ve created a world inhabited by powerful sorcerers, mythical creatures, grand castles filled with secrets, and fantastic beasts soaring through the skies. At the heart of it, all is my female protagonist—an inspiring warrior who is destined to change her world forever.

To properly set the scene for this heroine’s escapades, I knew I had to bring these awe-inspiring castles to life—a task that proved difficult at first. Vividly describing their architectural grandeur while capturing the atmosphere unique to each was no easy feat. From towering turrets that pierced the skies to labyrinthine corridors concealing ancient treasures, there were many details to explore.

The challenges did not deter me, however. They invigorated my determination to thoroughly immerse readers in my medieval world. Each struggle with describing these magnificent structures has taught me more about using language effectively and creatively—a skill every author hopes to hone.

But it’s not just the castles that fascinate me; it’s also the powerful female protagonist at the heart of this adventure. Her courage, resilience and magical prowess motivate me to write her story—which is fulfilling and challenging to put down on paper.

As I continue venturing into this enchanting realm with every stroke of my keyboard, I am grateful for both successes and obstacles. They have helped shape my growth as a writer, allowing me to dive deeper into a world rife with enchantment and danger.

I hope that when my novel is finally ready to read, it will be able to spark your imagination and transport you into the medieval world of castles, dragons, and magic. Until then, stay tuned for more updates on my writing journey!
