Season 1, episode 16
As Olivia and Lloyd grow closer Demetri brings forward his wedding date in an attempt to prevent his own murder.
This week’s WTF moment goes to FlashForward. Just when I thought Demetri (John Cho) was prepped for an impromptu wedding with Zoey ( Gabrielle Union), Dyson Frost (Michael Massee) comes along and bops him one.
Zoey agrees to Demetri’s proposal of getting married the next day in a church and staying in Hawaii until 15 March has come and gone. On his wedding day, Dyson Frost knocks out Demetri with a gun. Later, Dyson Frost is seen sitting in front of a blue sedan and in the backseat is Demetri, who is unconscious.
The two kids, Dylan (Ryan Wynott) and Charlie (Lennon Wynn) make secret plans to meet and play at the park. The plan leads Olivia (Sonya Walger) and Lloyd (Jack Davenport) meeting and they are obviously clueless about their children’s scheming. When Charlie gets hurt, Lloyd offers his hand for comfort while Olivia tends to her. Later that night, Olivia visits Lloyd’s house to thank him for the help in the park. Lloyd wonders why Olivia did not simply call him. They both realise the strong feelings that they have shared in the flashforward and when a tear streams down Olivia’s face, she kisses Lloyd.
It seems Demetri is the only one willing to change the future and I get that he is motivated by the fact that he didn’t have a flashforward so is presuming that he dies, but Olivia leaning into the inevitable was quite disappointing.
This episode was quite good as it’s moving the story along at a faster pace than previous episodes. I’m interested to learn about Dyson Frost and is motivations. I actually can’t wait until next week.
