Under the Dome renewed for second season

Under the Dome renewed for second season

When I picked Under the Dome to watch and review during the summer it was under the understanding that there would only be 13 episodes. You know, start middle and an end like Harper’s Island and Day Break I found out today that the series has been renewed for a second season.

I’m not excited. I really should be because; yay there just isn’t enough sci-fi on TV. But Under the Dome has yet to deliver on the imaginary promises I had built up in my head for the show. There are another 13 episodes planned for summer of 2014, does that mean we won’t find out what the frikking dome is this season?

It all comes down to ratings. Under the Dome was viewed by more than 13 million when it premiered in June and has continued to attract 11 million viewers per episode. I’m happy for the show, I really am, I just hate cliff-hangers and I know we’re gonna get one.

Stephen King himself is slated to write the first episode for season two so there’s hope.

Are you happy about the news?

It always comes down to ratings. People tuned in with high hopes but the show has not delivered. I don’t see the point in dragging this out over another season. Like you I thought this was just going to be a one off summer series.

I am going to do my best to watch up to the final episode of this season but I don’t know about tuning in for a second season. We’ll see what happens in the finale.
