While Shanice runs herself ragged managing the sanctuary and planning a wedding celebration other 4400 are preparing for war.
Coming home
As the government predicted, more people are returning to the Bois Blanc hotel for safety. When Ji-Eun shows up with boyfriend Harold, the Rev assumes she’s back for good but she isn’t. She wants him to take her powers so that she can marry Harold and live a normal life.

Harold was Ji-Eun’s boyfriend from before she went missing over 30 years ago. He never gave up hope. As Harold spoke you could see Shanice reflecting on her and Logan’s situation. Despite her being with Andre now, I think her emotions and feelings of what could have been are still raw but when Ji-Eun asks her to organise the wedding, she can’t say no. The rich benefactor from the previous episode was generous enough to help fund the wedding. When will we learn who this benefactor is?
LaDonna returns to the hotel and we learn that living with her father (Tim Russ) wasn’t the happy experience she expected it to be as he has bought into the conspiracy theories being told by talk show radio host, Kevin wellington who says the 4400 are posing as long-lost family members to kill everyone. Her father went as far as locking her in the attic and accusing her of being a reptile.

LaDonna came to the hotel to warn everyone that a group called the 44orum are disguising themselves as members of the 4400 to infiltrate the hotel and stir up trouble.
Hayden returns to the hotel after Logan’s home is attacked for being a 4400 sympathiser. Whilst Mildred is happy to see him Hayden doesn’t look happy to see her. I think he blames her for everything that’s happening and the fact that he had to leave the comfort and security of the Kaminski home.
Is Manny the man behind the curtain?
Jharrel is happy that he has his brother back and wants to share the news but Manny insists on keeping a low profile. When he bumps into members of the 4400, he introduces himself as Jorge, a 4400 sympathiser. This ruse backfires as his powers are accidentally taken when the Rev shakes his hand.
When he is introduced to Claudette, he pretends not to know her but we soon learn that they have met before as Manny had recruited her and had been training her and other 4400 to tap into their powers for an upcoming war. Now we know why Claudette has tear gas.

Whilst Claudette keeps Manny’s secret from Jharrel, Soraya warns him that his brother isn’t who he thinks he is. Acting as a Triple agent, she learned that the government are interested in finding Manny because he is connected to ZMT which is in the blood of the returnees. ZMT is what makes them unique. It’s more than likely that Manny has the answers to why the 4400 returned all at the same time.
Before we could get a chance to process exactly how shady Manny is, when he learns that Isaiah took his powers, he confronts the Rev insisting he gives them back. The Rev tells him that’s not how it works so Manny stabs him. As the Rev lay dying Manny becomes invisible again, elsewhere Mildred, Shanice and Je-Eun’s powers have also returned.
Logan finds the Rev bleeding out on the floor and I’m hoping that somehow, they manage to save him. In spite of his ridiculous homophobia, the Rev is a very interesting shade of grey character. Until recently, we weren’t sure whose side he was really on. If war is coming, I’m sure he would have been useful.
Is Manny even a good guy? I understand that he is a fugitive and his powers allow him to keep off the government’s radar but why the fake name? Had he introduced himself properly to the Rev, he would never have touched him.
If Manny is behind the 4400 being taken and returned, then it’s possible he sees killing one of them as serving the needs of the many.
I’m looking forward to the next episode. I feel the show has a good story to tell and hope that The CW renew it for a second season so that we can see that story.
