As Facebook continues to add new features for better community cohesion, there are many features social media managers can use to engage with followers and potential customers. Here we list 6 features to help promote your page and provide a better user experience.
Business Page profile
Completing your business page profile is the first and most important thing you should do. Having a detailed and fully completed profile page is your first step in letting your audience know that you are ready to engage with them. There are several sections where you can add more information about your business. The most important ones are
- Description/About your business
- Contact details (include your email and phone number)
- Location
- Website address
- Hours of business
- Other social media accounts
Call to action buttons
Using a call to action can encourage your audience to engage with your brand and increase conversions as a result. You can create specific CTA buttons for your Facebook Page to prompt visitors to take a particular action. If you have a landing page on your website a CTA button can be used to link to that page.
To add a CTA, click the edit button below your cover photo and select which CTA button to add. You choose what action you’d like visitors to take based on what you think is best for your business. The CTA will encourage people to take direct action once they are on your page.
Here are a few other examples of the CTAs you can include:
- Contact your businesses via email, phone, or chat
- Buy now
- Book an appointment
- Make a reservation
- Download an App
Facebook messenger
When it comes to customer service, Facebook Messenger has become the preferred way that customers use to talk to businesses. With 64% of people across generations stating that they prefer messaging to a call or email, you definitely should be using this app too.
Facebook Messenger shouldn’t be limited to responding to customer complaints, there are many other benefits including engaging with followers during a live event and sending product information to customers.
Make the most of featured cover photos
You can use featured cover photos to showcase a new product or service, promote your new album, announce upcoming events and more. Whatever campaign you currently have running, use the featured cover photo as part of your campaign. It should match all the assets you create for that particular campaign.
Make use of Live video
Page owners can now broadcast live directly from the page. Facebook Live lets you live-stream events, performances and gatherings on Facebook.
Going live on your Facebook Page will give you access to more tools and capabilities than going live to a group or event. Using the online events feature will allow you to benefit from all Page live-streaming tools when going live at an event.
Page owners can also carry out test runs of their live events through the rehearsal feature. This feature lets Pages broadcast live to admins and moderators while they test out the new features, and practice for the live event.
Facebook is really big on video engagement and as more people prefer watching videos to reading long text, you could do well to make use of this feature.
Utilise the Pages to Watch feature
How does your brand measure up against your competitors? Don’t know? You can use the Facebook Pages to Watch feature to keep track of your competitor’s pages.
Setting up a page to watch is simple. Click ‘Insights’ from your Facebook Page. At the bottom of the next page, just add the competitor pages you wish to track. You’ll be able to view competitor metrics such as page likes, engagement rates, and the number of times they post each week. Adding multiple competitors to watch, allows you to see all of their analytics side by side.
This is a useful feature for social media managers who want to gain insight into how other brands in the industry are doing on Facebook. This feature allows you to see which of your competitors’ posts are driving engagement allowing you to include some of their strategies in your own campaigns.
That’s our list. How many of these features do you already use? Which ones will you use in the future?
